Overview

The primary objective of the Essential course is to develop an understanding of Graston Technique© therapy (GT) and how to apply it into the full spectrum of musculoskeletal treatment approaches. The course also instructs clinicians on the proper use of the instruments.

By the end of the training, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Graston Technique© brand instruments, GT treatments, potential effects, and benefits.
  • Identify and discuss the indications, contraindications (relative and absolute) of GT.
  • Review and develop a better understanding of soft tissue injury, healing and potential reactivity to instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (therapeutic and adverse).
  • Develop skill and competence in the GT application of IASTM to the major regions of soft tissue.

INSTRUCTOR

Kristin White

Kim is a founder of The Back Institute and serves as a vice president. In 2010, she presented an abstract paper on hamstring tendinopathy at the 2010 American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians symposium and published a case report in a peer reviewed journal. Dr. White also holds additional certifications in acupuncture and kinesiotaping. She has been a GT instructor since 2012. She earned Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from Logan College of Chiropractic. She also received a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician degree from National University of Health Sciences and is working toward her Diplomat.
